Yeah, well I did list many issues I had with it. And like I said, if it popularizes the ducks (even if its bad) it may get more people reading the old material. And that I am all for.

I was never a hardcore fan but I did thoroughly enjoy the cartoon show back in the day. To be honest, it’s only because of you that I got to know the comic book series so well and the depth behind them, thank you for that.

I hate the fact that they tend to make boys always look stupid in any and all animated projects these days…the girl is ALWAYS the more intelligent one…not to say this isn’t true in a lot of cases but every single time?? C’mon…I’d like to see a little more encouragement with making BOTH genders equally intelligent.

Anyway, great review, please make more 🙂

When one of the color plates was slightly out of alignment with the others, there’s just something to love about it. I don’t know, I can’t explain it.

Dude, you need to watch Young Justice. Trust me, it explores social relevance beyond just what a youth may go through. Screw Teen Titans.

Modern television tends to present male characters as more foolish and intellectually clumsy than their female counterparts. Showing a girl as less capable (or even equally-capable in some cases) in some respect to a boy (or man) would be decried as sexist. So now we have a bunch of dumb, foolish boys and an intelligent, capable girl.

Also, the ideal child and the appeal of children has changed somewhat, too. Or, at least, how they’re presented has changed. Respectful, capable, collected youths would seem outdated or out of place, especially to kids inundated with the kind of characters you see in shows like Teen Titans Go. So, overall, characters in television shows are getting dumber but also children held to the standards of 30-40 years ago would seem out of place now, at least in modern television.

It has the right cast of characters, is willing to pay homage to both the source material and original show. Production values appear strong, it has its own look which you either like or don’t like. I like the attempt to make the nephews discernible from each other. I don’t think they’re stupid here, just ignorant. They’ve never been adventurers and will have to learn on the job. I also like that it appears Della Duck will get to do something after basically being invisible since her name appeared in the classic short “Donald’s Nephews.”
