did they ever even comment on the music? seems odd not to, since the soundtrack is among the best on classic games.

i’m seriously doubting that having more than 50 rings at the end of a level gives you a continue. a continue includes multiple lives, so if 100 rings just gives you one extra life, why would carrying 50 to the end of the level give you like 3? it’s been a long time since i’ve played but that really does not sound right and i’m almost positive it can’t be. because you’d have like 10 extra continues by the end, just by normal play, and i remember cutting it close with the continues by the end of the game a few times (and i wasn’t a bad player).

you don’t have to be an expert at sonic 2 to know about the bonus stages and chaos emeralds. how old are you, teenager? guessing you weren’t even alive when this game came out. people who were knew this stuff. so maybe you shouldn’t jump in to correct someone who knows what they’re talking about. it’s a totally valid complaint. they don’t put in even a tiny bit of effort to learn the controls/mechanics of the games they play before playing them, and yet they’re making a living doing videos about playing games. it’s pretty lazy.

yeah i mean, they are totally opposed to looking at a manual before playing a game and they still often complain about not being able to figure things out. and they’re doing this for a living. you’d think they could put the 5 minutes into looking at the manual before playing, or even just have it beside them and pause to look things up if they get stuck or are having trouble. countless times you see them playing games and never use a special move or do some other basic thing that would make the game that much funner/easier/better. not knowing about the bonus stages/chaos emeralds is probably one of the better examples. of course they don’t have to know EVERYTHING about a game, but this was a huge, well known game, and the bonus stages/chaos emeralds are a pretty big part of it. not only that but reading the manual/doing a bit of research online even, before playing these games would give them more to talk about. it seems like they don’t really care about making these vids as entertaining as they could be.

It’s been that long.

Making Tails fly was actually pretty useful in Sonic 3 for some areas though- I recall getting at least one giant ring with his flying.

Watching your gameplay footage, I can offer you guys a few tips: At the boss in Chemical Plant Zone, Sonic can crouch under Dr. Robotnik’s blue ball attacks which will not cause Sonic to be hurt. Also, you can jump on top of him and keep bouncing for repeated hits and basically defeat him with one jump. At the boss for Aquatic Ruin Zone, if you are quick enough, you can jump on top of the totem poles (statues) and then jump on top of Robotnik once (and keep bouncing up and down on him) to defeat him in one jump as well. There actually is a time limit in the game such that after 10 minutes elapses, you will lose a life. I can understand your frustration with the hoops in Casino Night Zone, too… I never knew how to get to them!
