It was just that everybody hyped it up so much that when I did see it, I was disappointed because it wasn’t as good as what everyone made it out to be.”

Ha! Pretty much my thoughts about this game when I had played it through. It really is not worth all the praises it gets.

P.S. Those grasshopper looking things are called “Buzz”…Wow…that’s kind of lame. They don’t make any sound or even have wings.

That makes total sense, if you’re talking about getting all the heart pieces, however, you guys obviously got the shield upgrade. As Batman91 pointed out, the boomerang upgrade is in the exact same spot from the same fairy. It certainly isn’t necessary to complete the game, but it’s way more efficient than the original. It can fly much farther and can also mow down bushes. If you were not aware, there’s also a neat trick you can do by throwing an empty bottle into any fairy pond, which will return to you with a full bottle of magic 🙂

Also, when you’re in one of the rooms in Dungeon 5 (Ice Dungeon) you were whacking at those green duck things (called Pengators) with your sword. The hookshot kills them with one blow, just for future reference 🙂

I’m really happy you guys are finally playing through this game. It’s been my #1 favorite since I was a kid and I’ve beaten it so many times I’ve lost count. I always go directly to dungeon #4 after beating #1 so that I can get the final gloves, and tempered sword for more damage. It definitely makes #2 and 3 a lot easier. The boss on #4 is usually a bitch, so I’ll use the blue cane there to avoid all the projectiles.

Shit…now I want to play through it again LOL

That would have made the ice palace boss a lot easier.

Links Awakening: You can burn dogs to their death with the magic wand.
Dead Rising(WII): You can run over poodles with a lawnmower…

Seeing how there was a moment where you both mentioned wanting to make Zelda references but couldn’t because of obvious, I recommend you look into Adventure Time: the secret of the nameless kingdom. I know you all are very busy but it’s worth the look mainly to feel the astonishment of “how did they get away with this!?”

It’s a great Zelda clone in its own right. It’s Hyrule…in the adventure time deminsion o.o
