Now I’ve got an XBox One S hooked up to my 4K television and I can enjoy both consoles.

Yep. Protip number 1. Even thought I wasn’t the original to say it…I’m going to reiterate it anyway. Pegasus walls that you can shoulder bash through look like “mushrooms” or semi-circles or something.

That said, many long running series have early entries that feel archaic and are much newer than Zelda, and I think the series is great even for newcomers from SNES forward. Granted, I haven’t played this particular game but I do think I’ll like it if I do. I enjoyed the Oracle games for Gameboy Color just fine. If you game for many years that span into decades choosing one favourite can be difficult, and childhood nostalgia does often play a part in that so I don’t judge younger gamers who identify with more modern titles as those games released at a time that left an impression on them.

Breath of fire! That’s the game I was looking for. I mistook it for Lufia II, which I’m playing rght now. Still awesome.

It’s true that ‘favorite’ is often about nostalgia. But as a counter-argument for myself at least, I can say A Link Between World might be my favorite zelda ever. And I mean, Link’s awakening and Alttp is certainly childhood happiness to me still. Or how Gun Hazard on snes is now my favorite snes game, despite even being such a great nerd for super metroid and beating it hundreds of times. So maybe quality in videogames just went down a bit, more mainstream, appealing to most… but sadly wowing no one.
