I don’t get why the ghost thing just walks towards the victim slowly. It can pop up everywhere, why not just catch your target?!

The reason he initially explained to her what’s going on for instance is so she survives longer and that he can get some rest for a change.
Just sleeping with someone that dies the next day won’t work in the long run of course so you gotta find someone that doesn’t die too fast to IT. My guess is that he tried that a few times already.

Execution was great and all but what bothered me personally is: what is IT’s problem really? That teenagers don’t fuck around enough?
What does it want? That’s what made no sense to me personally.

The swimming pool thing was forgivable really because it’s a classic “let’s trap the monster”-showdown.

What cut did you see? The one I watched was only about 1:40…

I actually liked the slow pace of the movie, it let you get to know the characters and build the suspense at the same time. I love films that show interaction between characters that doesn’t serve any real purpose to the story (Tarantino is a master of this), although I agree the boat scene should have either been cut or explained a little more.

The ending can make or break a film for me, and while I didn’t like the contradictory aspect of the pool scene that James and Mike pointed out, it redeemed itself with the final ambiguous scene where they’re walking down the street.

Definitely one of the best recent horror movies for me.

That was a really good take on it: there’s actually a lot you could read into this movie. I hadn’t thought about the boy’s possible significance, and I hadn’t noticed he was the same boy who crawled through the door (at least I think he was).

Doesn’t have to be horror movies, anything they think is worth a discussion

I thought the length was perfect though. It was surprisingly good! Original.

No actually I thought it was the beach scene that kinda broke it for me. The jumper scene in the shack. When it crawls through the door hole it smashed? Really stupid cliche. Other than that, I was a bit annoyed that the creature was given physical mass. I would’ve prefered if the friends had to believe her out of faith ( and by their dead friend (killed by his ‘mom’ ))
