I feel bad, because I always feel like I’m the one who’s defending you to others too. Oh well.

I forgot I had written this comment and I definitely didn’t expect a reply. Sorry, I didn’t mean to cause a shitstorm, I was just wondering whether you had watched them recently or not.

I’ve never really bought this argument to be honest. Once the NES library has been exhausted he could move on to the SNES and Genesis libraries and then on to the N64/PS1/Saturn generation. There are still plenty of lousy games in those categories and even at a faster pace than the one at which he is moving now by the time he got to them, they would qualify as retro too. (This makes me feel way too old but really, they already are retro. The PS1 is just about twenty years old now.)

It was actually at the public library. This was a much better film than I thought it would be. The acting carries the film, which is well written with characters that are, as James and Mike aptly point out, a mix of likable and annoying. In short, they are believable.

But I got to add that being stuck in a ski lift is a terrible feeling. It is not very uncommon for a lift to stop for a minute or two (or even 10 minutes if there is something really bad happened to the ski lift) and when it happens it makes you think that you’d die there. Although eventually you won’t.

This is something I have not understood either. Isn’t that the best time to keep the place open?

When the ski lifts are shut down the operators use radios (mobile phones nowadays probably) to check the number of a seat going up. The other operator at the up would wait until he sees the ski lift with that number on wouldn’t stop the lift until he sees it. I haven’t seen the movie so perhaps there is a way they make it happen, but to me it seems so impossible that the plot is mainly just bizarre. About being in a ski lift for a weekend: The people would definitely die. Not just from the cold, but also they wouldn’t have any food or water with them. Downhill skiing clothes are quite heavy and not very mobile so climbing and moving while clothed would probably not be that easy. Especially when wearing ski shoes and gloves etc.
Also I think undressing is not a very good idea. The ones that are naked would probably die in less then 10 minutes.
