I’m pretty sure the graphics were made bad on purpose to contribute to the cartoony look they were going for. Mike and James, it might be a good idea to look up the controls before guessing at them the entire time. The analog stick and Z button were a much better option for this game than the D-pad and L button, and you can actually throw papers in both directions (Z for left, R for right). You can also control your speed and perform jumps. I never found it difficult to control at all, plus, you can move freely around the level, so you can always go back if you’ve missed a house to try again. The humor of the game seems to be lost on you guys too. You can pretty much knock out anyone who gets in your way and break just about every object in the game, and it all results in hilarious slapstick sound effects. There is a huge variety of levels to play, everything from a Zoo, to Halloween town, to a volcano. There were also challenges on top of just delivering papers, like finding 3 gold coins per level (which could be hidden inside any object or person) and obstacle courses, including ramps you could jump insanely high off of and do tricks to earn points. This game had its fill of bosses too. All in all, I don’t know how you could say the original NES game is better than this. The original gets boring and frustrating after about 5 minutes and is really just a trial-and-error exercise in memorizing the best (and sometimes only) path to make it through a level. In conclusion, I think it’s unfair to group this game with the usual crappier ones you guys play. I thought it at least made a good attempt at adding depth to an otherwise simple game, and last time I picked it up, it was still fun to play.

The paper sailed through the air at an angle and every successful mailbox (or window) hit felt like a little victory. This one looks like you line your target up with a big arrow and fire the paper as if from a cannon. The boss battle is loony enough to make this game at least an interesting failure though.

The levels were bright and there was so much to do and see. I’m glad I never played this version, compared to the original, it looks dull, boring and completely uninspiring.
