I’m curious to know if you have seen the short lived HBO Spawn animated series from the 90’s? I don’t usually get into “serious adult” animated series, but the Spawn HBO series was fantastic. Knowing you are an artist/animation/movie fan I was just hoping to hear any of your thoughts on the rarely talked about (and canceled before it was completed) gem.

No. I’ve only seen the original. But I played both Atari games if that’s any consolation.

Yeah, nobody saw it when it was in the theater (except me and my friends) and was a major box-office flop, but man does it kick ass. One of the best R-rated action movies since the 1980s. Except for the copious amounts of CGI blood sprays, it feels like an 80s action movie, it just has the right pacing, I guess. It’s gritty and ultra-violent like Robocop.

Anyway, it made me more nostalgic about the 80s than either of the Expendables movies (Expendables 2… uggh), even though the only thing I ever knew about Judge Dredd back then was the Commodore 64 game. Then that shitty Stallone version in the 90s.

Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.

Did you see so much care and attention Dracula and Frankenstein received with the picture quality? I’m sure it makes the previous VHS, laserdisc, and DVDs obsolete.
