Inanimate statues coming to life is a pretty common idea amongst humans all through history. The Judaic tales about golems is an early example of it. I’m sure there is at least one or more stories in the Hindu beliefs about gods using statues as a conduit on Earth, but whether you consider that living is up for debate. So, it’s not really anything new.

Yeah, the Ghostbusters having to earn money to acquire the equipment and whatnot that they need to do their job is pretty thematic and a fitting part of a Ghostbusters video game, even if the execution of the concept in some of these games wasn’t so good. The movie repeatedly references the crew’s money troubles and the fact that they’re running a business.

Ghostbusters 2: the Statue of Liberty walks. Dr. Who: weeping angels (and the Statue of Liberty just happens to be one). Night at the Museum: the displays come to life at night. I could go on.

That is awesome!

I look at it as though they are spending money on developing new weapons, not buying them from a store. If they’re making their own equipment, one way or another they still have to spend money.

I think it’s quite similar to the NES one (so perhaps it’s not that good – my memory sucks)..
But there is one Ghostbusters game that is totally awesome. It’s the Ghostbusters II for PC. You should try it out – I found it once from a downloading site so perhaps it is not easy to find. It’s still quite weird (and absolutely impossible to play without a mouse – so you should check the settings to choose correct input device).

Did he go out around the neighborhood looking for a good piece of dog shit to use on film beforehand? maybe he was driving and saw it out of the corner of his eye and though “yeah, thats the perfect turd for my videos”. either way, fucking hilarious.
